The latest club fixture held at Cheshire Oaks proved to be a challenging test of adaptability for all competitors. The day was defined by rapidly shifting weather patterns, forcing anglers to contend with volatile conditions that swung from heavy rain and strong gusts to periods of bright sun and absolute calm.
Despite the erratic environment, Mike Roberts delivered a clinical performance to secure the overall victory. Fishing from Peg 21, Mike returned a winning weight of 31 lbs 1 oz.
In addition to his match win, Mike successfully capitalized on the Golden Peg draw. By securing first place from the designated peg, he claimed the £100 bonus, marking an exceptionally successful outing.
The competition remained tight throughout the day, with several members putting in highly commendable shifts to lead their respective sections:
Section A: Wayne Jevons secured the section win and finished 2nd overall with an impressive 29 lbs 9 oz from Peg 1.
Section B: Ian Myers demonstrated great consistency in Section B, taking the win with a weight of 23 lbs 4 oz from Peg 10.
Section D: Andy Lavender rounded out the top honors, securing the section win and 3rd place overall with 26 lbs 9 oz from Peg 24.
Congratulations again to Mike Roberts on his dual success and to all section winners for their strong performances under difficult conditions. We thank all members for their participation and look forward to the next fixture.
