Match Report: George Roberts Memorial Match – River Weaver (Final Match of the Season)

Despite a low turnout driven by some challenging weather conditions, our die-hard members gathered on October 25, 2026, for the final match of the season on the River Weaver.

Before casting a line, the club held a respectful moment of remembrance to honour the memory of George Roberts for this special memorial match.

When the scales settled after a tough session against the elements, Paul Lennon came out victorious, taking 1st place with an impressive weight of 2-8 from Peg 6. Wayne Jevons secured 2nd place with 1-14 from Peg 3, closely followed by Gary Boydell in 3rd place with 1-13 from Peg 1.
