Weston Pools - Claypit - 22nd June 2025
Today was the Brian Wadsworth memorial match which as usual his held at the Claypit Weston Pools.
The club had a good day overall as everyone had a good days fishing, even if some could only catch the little stockies. It was a very tight affair for the winning spot thought with only 1 fish between Gary and Mike. Gary took home the win with a weight of 102lb 12oz beating Mike's 101lb 11oz. Well done Gary.
The weather could have been better considering it was 27C during the week. It was overcast with light showers throughout most of the day and the temperature had dropped to 18C. And as usual it bounced down during the weigh in....
Stevie Matthews, Simon Bayley and Andy Lavender finished off the frame. Well done all.
Match Winning Tactics
Gary fished 13m shallow for the majority of the match with either a fixed rig and a jigger. The fixed rig at 1 foot deep was the best option. Feeding castors with either caster or pellet on the hook. A few carp were caught to his right hand side margin at the end of the match on castor and worm.
