Club AGM will be on the 1st December at the Grace Arms
Stamford Way - 12th October 2025
The club returned to Stamford Way for the latest match, greeted by a calm, mild autumn day. The temperature rose steadily from around 9°C in the morning to a comfortable 14°C by mid-afternoon. A light south-easterly breeze kept the water moving just enough to make presentation interesting, and with high pressure (around 1033mb) settled over the region, conditions were pleasant if a little on the still side for some pegs.
Section A
Section A proved to be a mixed bag, with some pegs producing well and others struggling to get consistent bites. Wayne Jevons took the section win with 34lb 4oz, a fine effort on what can be a tricky area of the lake. Martin Sidley also put together a solid 25lb 5oz, while Ian Myers and John Croft worked hard for their weights. Tenchy weighed 9lb 14oz.
Section B
Section B saw some strong performances, with Andy Lavender topping the section — and coming very close to taking overall honours — with an impressive 57lb 11oz. Dave Kell wasn’t far behind with a tidy 38lb 13oz, while Paul Lennon recorded 24lb 8oz. Brian Sidley found a few late fish for 20lb 3oz, while Stuart Clubbe unfortunately recorded a DNW on the day.
Section C
The action really heated up in Section C, where the top weights of the match came from. Gary Boydell stormed to victory with an excellent 71lb 1oz. Mike Roberts followed closely behind on 52lb 4oz, while Andy Fletcher wasn’t far off with 44lb 10oz. Syd Taylor and Stevie Matthews also had steady days with 37lb 4oz and 24lb 6oz, respectively.

Congratulations to both anglers for reaching the final and providing an exciting finish to this season’s cup competition.
